Alex Yang is a Hmong-American artist based in Minnesota with a passion for engaging in community by capturing human experiences, history, and stories through digital illustrations. His work focuses on exploring themes such as shared experiences, and diaspora within the Hmong community such as his most notable work: the “Ladies of the Hmong Diaspora” series depicting the different styles of traditional Hmong clothes. With his artwork, he strives to connect with his roots, empower people to embrace their heritage, and invite diverse representation into spaces.
