Maleeya Xiong is the photographer behind Precious Photoworks. Her portrait studio is based in Milwaukee, WI. She started the business in 2017, after losing her brother Por Xiong. That loss taught her something hard: how few photos she had of the two of them together. So many memories had gone uncaptured. Precious Photoworks grew out of that loss. The name is a reminder to hold onto life's precious moments while you can. The word Photoworks is also a nod to her sister Za Xiong's photography business, Alluring Photoworks. Za's work first inspired Maleeya to pick up a camera. As a Hmong-owned business, Precious Photoworks brings real cultural understanding to every session. Maleeya offers personal service for family portraits, wedding photography, and individual portraits. She takes time to learn your story before the shoot even starts. Milwaukee gives Maleeya an edge. She knows the city's neighborhoods, parks, and landmarks well. That means she can pick backdrops that truly fit each client. Her Hmong heritage also helps her connect with a wide range of people.
