Crystal YangDisappointed from my experience from the 2024 Eat 30 Gala, photos from the Meet & Greet of the international artist, Luj Yaj was posted on Facebook from their professional photographer. We paid extra for the Meet & Greet and the 2 photos that were taken from their photographer turned out horrible! They did NOT allow you to use your own personal device to take photos from the Meet & Greet. In the photos hues of yellow and people were not even looking at the camera or eyes closed. For an experience like this we wanted a nice photo but we ended up with no good photo of the 2 they took. We asked for some sort of reimbursement from the Meet & Greet due to the turnout of the “professional photos” and they refused. Let alone it took them over a week to respond to my complaint. We also wanted our photos off their Facebook but they did not acknowledge on removing our photo from the public website. Let me ask you this…. If it was your keepsake photo and a paid experience, how would you feel?
Katie RosenbergThe Hmong American Center is an incredibly important part of our community -- whether they are ensuring elders get nutrition and socialization opportunities or they are helping small businesses get a solid start. These folks work so hard to ensure the success of our whole community.
Sheng VangThe facility represents and supports a wide range of services and programs directed towards helping the hmong community. I am hmong and understand the barriers and struggles it takes to be a hmong and especially a hmong women. It is known that the culture struggles to understand simple legalities and federal and state laws. I spoke to Yee Leng Xiong, director of the Association on a specific matter in which the community and culture itself is aware and knows of its allowed agressive and violent behavior. Instead of assisting me in providing me with a translator, he blocked my number. Yes! The Director! I would like to express my sincere apology, in which led you to react that way, but I am disappointed as the Director of the Hmong Association, you portrayed a poor reflection on the facility in making decisions to ultimately discriminate individuals like me. As the culture evolves there is going to be set backs and barriers in which hmong individuals will encounter and there are people like you who WE rely on to stand in front of hundreds or thousands of people to represent us. How do you stand in front of these people when you can't represent the percentage of individuals like me? I'm sorry to state this but your integrity has been compromised, Yee Leng Xiong.
