Charity GrubbsRocky’s Barbecue Asian Fusion in Blaine was such a great find! The first thing I noticed was how welcoming the space felt. It is big, open, and very inviting. They also have a beautiful outdoor patio that I absolutely would have chosen if we weren’t currently living through a combination heat stroke and terrible air quality. On a nicer day, that patio would be a perfect spot. I was greeted right away when I walked through the door, which is always appreciated. I was quickly seated and decided to order the Pick Your Wok experience. You choose your protein and then decide how you want it prepared, with several rice and noodle options available. I chose the Childhood Noodles with chicken. The best way I can describe it is an elevated, comforting version of the ramen noodles many of us grew up eating. It had carrots, onions, celery, and plenty of chicken. It felt familiar, warm, and satisfying. I also ordered the egg rolls, and I am not exaggerating when I say they may have been some of the best egg rolls I have ever had. I love the long, skinny style, and these were perfectly crispy. The wrapper was cooked beautifully, and the thick dipping sauce actually stayed on the egg roll instead of sliding right off. These were easily the star of the meal! I added a side of fried rice, which came out perfectly prepared with peas and carrots. Everything tasted fresh, hot, and well made. The restaurant was quiet while I was there, but I visited at an unusual time of day, so I am hoping it was simply my timing. This is definitely a place I would return to, and I would highly recommend giving it a try. Great service, welcoming atmosphere, delicious food, and seriously unforgettable egg rolls!
Richard Thao (Richy)Went out to visit for lunch around 2pm. Front parking is small but there's also back parking as well GPS will bring you to the front. Restaurant wasn't busy at that time and there were only 3 other family there. Employees greeted us and let us sit wherever we wanted. Everyone was respectful and kept in check with us while eating. Restaurant is very self serving type. You just order then get your own utensils/sauces as needed. Order got taken and food started to be put out at a reasonable time (8-10min.) though, we didn't have a ton to order. $10 sticky rice, papaya salad, hmong brisket, and pork belly w/fried rice for my partner and I. Honestly, price to portion, you dont get a ton for what you pay for. Its enough for my partner and I because we dont stuff ourselves alot, but you may be disappointed. I felt full at the end of the meal though. With that being said, the quality of the food was superb. Everything tasted fresh and well cooked. Pork belly wasn't stale and hard, it was quite crunchy. Brisket was ofcourse my favorite. Flavorful, smoked, and very tender. Sticky rice could be "stickier" but it was fine. Dipping hotsauce was not spicy but enough to add an extra flavor. The papaya was actually more spicier. I wouldnt consider this a "weekend" restaurant to go to because of the higher price and longer drive (say if your from the east side), but if you'd like to take someone to a nice clean dinner date, its nice to visit once in a blue moon. That's my opinion. Would I eat out there again? Hellyeah, just not all the time. Total without tip came out to around $80 (we also had ordered a few drinks btw). If money isnt an issue, this would be my new joint to go to. If your on the edge of wanting to try, id highly recomend to just trying it once. My experience went great, can't complain.
PetahMy wife and I really enjoyed the food here. She mentioned the meat sticks reminded her of Laos, which she loved. The Hmong beef was incredibly tender and full of flavor. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, with both indoor seating and an outdoor area. Water is self-serve. It’s not a very large space, so it can get busy quickly—best to visit outside of the lunch or dinner rush.
Christopher VangFood was amazing. I was taken to food paradise each bite. Papaya was well balanced, pork belly was crispy and juicy, ribs and chicken kebabs had a nice char on them which improved the flavor profile, and the briskets with the Hmong sauce is dynamite!
