Cheng KaToday we stopped by our favorite restaurant in town. I ordered three of their Crispy Pork Belly Pad Kra Pao since my kids love it. My favorite is the Thai boat noodle, the broth tastes savory even without additional seasonings or sauces. Their pad thai is flavorful, good consistency and not too dry. The raw larb is my husband favorite. We love their papaya. It is flavorful with good amount of juicy. We love their food. If you have not tried Thai Boat 89 then give them a try, you won’t be disappointed. Their service is great and has friendly staffs!
Pouapheng LeeThe thai boat here was very savory. The broth was good and the portion wasn't too small. Perfect bowl for a cold day. Their springs rolls were fresh and very good. The best part of their menu is the pork belly. Crispy and cooked to perfection for the crunch. We also got the pork belly laab which was very seasoned also. The service was good and they were very fast with the food coming out. Spoke to the owner and he was very nice and was really thankful for our visit. We will definitely come back for more pork belly.
Julie VMy boyfriend and I arrived around lunch and it was quite busy. However, we got seated right away. We ordered spring rolls, special pho, and pork belly pad kra pao. Building was cold, prepare to keep your coat on when dining in during colder weather. Spring rolls: loved it! It was nicely and tightly wrapped. They did not skip out on any fillings. 5/5 Special pho: clear broth and not as beefy. Beef bone was not fork tender but it wasn’t too bad. I love jalapeños and unfortunately, there was no jalapeños added or provided on the side. There was a lot of pho noodles. Light amount of meat provided but I assumed it was because I got the beef bone. 3/5 Pork belly pad kra pao: this was the main dish we really look forward too. However, it was a little disappointing. More on the sweet side, pork belly slices were chopped pretty big, and fatty. The crunch was still there which was a plus. They didn’t have any holy basil which was noted on their fb page but would had been nice to be aware of it when placing the order because not everyone is able to look or search on their fb page, if that is a ingredient that customers are expecting to have in their dish. 3.5/5
Kalia XThe pork belly is as good as it looks in the videos! I know TB89 is an extremely popular restaurant so we made sure to arrive right at opening. The waiter greeted us right away, was very attentive and kind, and he thanked us for stopping by when we left. 10/10 service. The food came out fairly quickly as well with appetizers first. BOAT NOODLE broth was good and not too sweet or heavy. It was also not gritty which means the ingredients were mixed well. The soup was served with veggies and plenty of meat. CREAM CHEESE WONTONS were very basic. The skin has a nice crunch to it but that's about it. Was not a fan of the sauce at all - looked like cornstarch slurry with food coloring and sugar. Even with basic wontons, this appetizer can be elevated with a great sauce. PORK BELLY LAAP is the star of the menu. Does not come with rice so we ordered a side of sticky rice. You can taste all the fresh herbs in this dish from the sliced hot pepper to the lemongrass. To top it off, the pork belly skin was so crispy while the body of the meat remained juicy and absorbed the flavors of the laap so well. Every bite was like heaven! You pay up front and grab your own containers to go. Space is very small so next time I'll likely order to go. There is ample parking if you arrive early.
Mai ThaoExcellent Thai food all around! The boat noodle was rich and flavorful with plenty of meat. The pork belly laab with sticky rice had the perfect balance of tangy, spicy, and savory. The pho was comforting with a deep, aromatic broth. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared—definitely a spot I’d come back to for a satisfying meal with my family.
